A native of St. Louis, Missouri Nanci Schrieber-Smith transplanted to Southern California where she has been a working artist and arts educator on the art faculty at Fullerton College for 28 years. Schrieber-Smith is a multidisciplinary artist whose processes have evolved full-circle from glass, to mixed media assemblage, to painting, and now back to glass. The Glass Menagerie series began in May 2013, when she married her assemblage, painting and glass skills resulting in a whole new sculptural direction with open-ended imagery and mystery. When not in the studio or in the classroom, Schrieber-Smith explores the world. Her extensive travel experiences in Europe, South America and Asia are an ongoing influence in both her artwork and her teaching. In 2016, Schrieber-Smith was honored by her Alma Mater with an induction into their Fine Arts Hall of Fame. Schrieber-Smith has commissioned works in California, Ohio and New York and has works in public and private collections throughout the United States.
